What Is the Future NP Club Placement-Risk Score?
It is the placement component of a program comparison, not a separate standalone tool and not a score of the student. The current method shows the facts that can increase or reduce uncertainty around a specific NP program track.
The product architecture resolves placement risk into School Database badges and the broader Program Safety Score experience. The current public-facing placement method intentionally uses factor statuses and source receipts rather than a 0-to-100 placement number.
That distinction matters. A precise-looking number would be misleading before factor definitions, weights, validation rules, and coverage thresholds are frozen. PR-0.1 therefore exposes what is known, what is unknown, and what the applicant must verify.
Which Program-Track Inputs Belong in the Method?
The placement report uses objective, decision-relevant fields.

How Are Evidence Confidence and Source Age Shown?
Every externally checkable factor should carry the publisher, source URL, exact quote or extracted fact, publication date when available, verification date, program track, and reviewer status. A source receipt lets a reader inspect the evidence without trusting a badge alone.
Official program language outranks a marketing summary, but it can still be incomplete. A current handbook may define student responsibility while saying nothing about local site capacity or agreement timing. The report shows that gap rather than filling it with an assumption.

What Happens When a Placement Policy Is Not Stated?
“Not stated” means unknown. It does not mean the school places every student, and it does not mean the student must find every preceptor.
The report should ask the program for controlling written language, record the response or nonresponse, and display the age of the evidence. Unknown information can reduce confidence in the comparison, but it cannot become an invented negative input.
The clinical-placement policy report applies the same denominator discipline to coverage. Missing policies belong in the unknown count, not in a student-finds count.
How Are Weights, Bands, and Versions Disclosed?
PR-0.1 assigns no numeric weights and publishes no aggregate placement-risk band. The factor table is the result. Any interface that shows “clear,” “worth asking about,” or “ask in writing” is an action label for an objective check, not a validated probability or a hidden score out of 100.
A future numeric version must publish the factor definitions, direction, weights, transformations, minimum evidence coverage, missing-data behavior, band thresholds, effective date, and change log before release. Old results would retain their version so a later method cannot silently rewrite them.
Until that standard is met, Future NP Club will not invent weights merely to complete a content page.
Which Factors Are Excluded From the Method?
PR-0.1 excludes consumer rankings, undefined reputation, anonymous labels, admissions selectivity as a quality proxy, unsupported placement outcomes, and community claims that cannot be verified against a named program source.
Accreditation remains visible but separate. CCNE tells students that it accredits programs but does not rank them. Accreditation is not proof of placement service, state eligibility, employer preference, or a particular clinical outcome.
How Does State and Geography Fit Affect the Result?
A placement plan must work where the student will complete clinical experiences and seek licensure. The report records the intended state, program authorization statement, known excluded states, clinical geography rules, and the date each source was checked.

Why Is the Factor Breakdown More Important Than One Number?
Two programs can reach the same action label for different reasons. One may publish a student-led search policy with strong agreement support and clear deadlines. Another may use vague assistance language, an old source, and no stated contingency. A single number would hide the difference.
The side-by-side placement comparison keeps source text, responsibilities, dates, fees, and remedies visible. That is more useful than treating unlike uncertainties as interchangeable points.
What Can the Method Never Promise?
It cannot predict an individual’s placement, guarantee a preceptor or site, validate every program nationally, replace accreditation or board review, or prove that one school is safe. It cannot label a program from missing data.
