That means PMHNP, NNP, ENP, and AGACNP can look like winners nationally and still be the wrong local choice for you.
Why Do PMHNP and Acute Specialties Often Rank High?
PMHNP benefits from mental-health access gaps and telehealth hiring. NNP and AGACNP benefit from acuity and specialized settings. ENP can benefit from emergency pace, shift needs, and urgent-care demand.
Those forces can raise pay, but they also narrow the work. PMHNP is not primary care with a pay raise. AGACNP is not FNP in a hospital. NNP is not pediatrics with smaller patients. The specialty changes the job.
